Cossonay CC successfully defend their title for a second consecutive year
Cossonay Cricket Club have been crowned Cricket Switzerland Premier League (CSPL) 2026 champions, successfully defending the title they won in 2025 and securing their second consecutive championship.
Cossonay produced an outstanding campaign, winning seven of their eight matches and finishing comfortably at the top of the league standings. Their consistent performances throughout the season established them as the leading team across all three major departments of the game: batting, bowling and fielding.
The team also secured the championship mathematically with matches still remaining in the league, underlining the strength of their campaign and the consistency they maintained throughout the season.
A Consistent Campaign
Cossonay made an impressive start to the season, winning their first six matches in succession. Their victories included matches against Geneva Cricket Club, Zurich Crickets CC, Swiss Afghan CC, Zurich Lions CC, Basel CC and Zurich Nomads.
Following their only defeat of the campaign, Cossonay responded strongly by closing their league season with a victory over Nomads Embrach. They finished the competition with an overall record of seven wins and one loss.

Strong Performances Across All Departments
Cossonay’s success was built on contributions throughout the squad. The club finished the league campaign at the top of the statistical standings in batting, bowling and fielding, highlighting the balance and depth of the team.
Anmol Prabhu was the leading run-scorer for Cossonay, finishing the campaign with 362 runs.
With the ball, Ashwin Vinod was a key contributor with 19 wickets, while Nasim Ahmadi added a further 15 wickets to the team’s bowling tally.
In the field, Wasim Javaid led the Cossonay statistics with six dismissals, further contributing to the team’s strong all-round performance.
The combination of strong batting, an effective bowling attack and consistent fielding was central to Cossonay’s success throughout the season.

“It has been another great year for us in the longer format! Winning back-to-back CSPL titles is something we are extremely proud of and confirms that our success in 2025 was no coincidence. Going into the 2026 season, our goal was simple: to maintain a high level of discipline, hard work and consistency. Competing against the best teams in the country is of course challenging, which makes winning seven matches and finishing on top even more rewarding. Our success this season is the result of the hard work put in by the entire squad at training week after week. Retaining the title reflects the dedication and resilience that define Cossonay Cricket Club.”
President’s Perspective
“What an excellent year it has been for CCC. To finish off the season
with a second consecutive CSPL title, following the ECN T10 tournament
win and the second consecutive CSWL title is a tremendous achievement
for the club. All the credit goes to the players, coaches and supporters
who made this possible. I would like to commend Arjun for his excellent
captaincy, and the senior players that supported him in running the team.
Most of this is thankless work behind the scenes and the team has shown
great maturity and dedication to make everything work as smoothly as
possible. To finish I must also mention all the players who show up
motivated to training every week and help create the atmosphere and
camaraderie that is necessary to keep the motivation high – the success
we have seen would not have been possible without you. Thank you!”
Championship Trophy Presentation
The official presentation of the CSPL 2026 championship trophy will take place at the annual event of Cossonay Cricket Club.
Cricket Switzerland officials will attend the event and formally present the winners’ trophy to Cossonay Cricket Club, providing an opportunity to recognise the team’s achievement and celebrate the successful season with the wider club community.

Seven wins from eight matches, a six-match winning start and leading performances across batting, bowling and fielding reflect the consistency and quality demonstrated by the team throughout the season.
