National Team Training and Looking Ahead

Jan 1, 2022 | 2022

In preparation for the upcoming ICC tournaments in 2022, and despite the festive season, the best senior players in Switzerland have had two full days of scheduled training sessions on the 12th and 18th December. This very talented group of players had the opportunity to spend time with coaches Yeti Sinh and Baljit Singh, who also shared their vision, expectations, and demands of international cricket. Specifically, the focus was on:

•             Fitness – improve baseline fitness to meet the demands of international cricket

•             Cricket skills – technique and execution of plans and strategies

•             Mindset – get the best out the team, the individual, and learn how to perform best in pressure situations

On the 12th, the team focused on their fitness and batting at two gyms in Zurich. In one hall four batting lanes were set up to work on various aspects of the game, including “hands” and weight distribution, while playing against swing, pace and spin. On the 18th, with a larger hall available at Adliswil, the focus was on roles and responsibilities, fielding, fitness tests (running between the wickets), but also practical execution of plans over two 10-over games and one 5-over game.

Multiple additional sessions are set up over the winter, with the first session in 2022 arranged for 2nd January.

Thank you to Yeti Sinh, Baljit Singh and the rest of the coaching team
