Swiss Women Remain Unbeaten with Dominant Display in Finland Tri-Nation Series

Cricket Switzerland’s Women’s National Cricket Team continued their remarkable rise in international cricket with an outstanding performance at the WT20i Tri-Nation Series in Finland last weekend. 

Facing hosts Finland and visitors Estonia, the team played five matches and emerged victorious in all, maintaining a perfect record of 9 wins from 9 international T20Is since their debut earlier this year. 

Match Results – Finland Tri-Nation Series

Match #1 vs Finland – Switzerland won by 7 wickets

Match #2 vs Estonia – Switzerland won by 5 wickets

Match #3 vs Finland – Switzerland won by 9 wickets

Match #4 vs Estonia – Switzerland won by 76 runs

Match #5 Final vs Finland – Switzerland won by 10 wickets 

These commanding wins secured the title for Switzerland and launched the team into the official ICC T20I World Rankings in 30th position after just eight matches – an outstanding achievement.

Over the course of the series:

  • 39 wickets were taken from a possible 50.
  • 6 of the top 9 bowlers and 4 of the top 6 batters were Swiss players.
  • 12 Swiss players featured in the top fielding statistics.

Every player contributed meaningfully, underlining the squad’s depth, balance, and growing reputation on the international stage.

The squad received a warm reception from friends, family, and fans on their return to Basel Airport, a reminder of the growing support behind this team.

Next up, the Swiss women look ahead to their upcoming WT20i Tri-Nation Tour in Luxembourg, where they will face Austria and Luxembourg in September. Preparation is already underway for what promises to be another exciting chapter in this historic debut season.
