Cossonay C​l​aim CSWL 2025 Title with Dominant Final Victory

The Cricket Switzerland Women’s League (CSWL) 2025 season reached its conclusion on Saturday August 23 with Cossonay Cricket Club crowned champions, after a commanding performance in the final that saw them secure the title. Cossonay were in control​ against the Basel Supernovas, underlining their status as the standout side of the season.

​Batting first, the Basel Supernovas posted a total of 102,​ with Amrita Sasidharan leading with the bat with 27 (27), setting what looked like a competitive target. But it was a full team effort for Cossonay on the field with Dan​i Meda​goda, Cossonay CC Women’s Captain, named Player of the Match for her decisive s​pell with the ball of 4-0-19-2. Newcomer Krupa Ravi Iyer also had a great spell with 2-0-15-2, and Natalie St Cyr Clarke proved why she was awarded Best Fielder of the season with two great catches. 

With Cossonay to bat, the opening pair of ​A​uni Mirabrishami and Liz​ Fulton came out strong and dominated the chase, reaching the target set without losing a wicket and sealing the championship f​or the first time for the Cossonay CC women’s team.

Following the Final, the CSWL Awards Ceremony honored the season’s top performers:

  • Best Batter of the Season: Amrita Sasidharan (Basel Supernovas)
  • Best Bowler​ of the Season: Dani Medagoda (Cossonay CC)
  • Best Fielder of the Season: Natalie St Cyr Clarke (Cossonay CC)
  • Emergent Player of the Season: Auni Mirabrishami (Cossonay CC)
  • MVP of the Season: Amrita Sasidharan (Basel Supernovas) supported by Cricketer Pro

The 2025 CSWL awards celebrated not only outstanding individual achievements but also the collective growth of the league and its clubs. Cricket Switzerland extends its congratulations to all participating teams, highlighting the increasing momentum and the strong spirit of community that is helping to define the competition.

A major milestone for the CSWL this season was the Final being played as a 11-a-side match – a clear reflection of the league’s increasing depth and strength. The final day at Cossonay was a true celebration of cricket, with enthusiastic support and a vibrant crowd adding to the atmosphere.
