Swiss Mr Pickwick T20 Cricket League

Season 2023

 

Welcome to the Mr. Pickwick Cup Twenty20 Cricket Competition.

The Mr. Pickwick Cup Twenty20 competition is a nationwide Twenty20 cricket league.

 

Five overs are the minimum number of overs that have to be played in order to reach a result, with ten points scored for a win, five for a rained-off match and no points for a loss. If points are equal, league positions will be decided using net run-rate.

Prize money is awarded to the winner and the runners-up.

Match day officials and cricket balls are financed by the tournament organisers & sponsorship, as are trophies, ground fees, lunches, balls & VIP hosting at the final.

The Mr. Pickwick Twenty20 Cricket competition is run under the auspices of Cricket Switzerland and the 2019 Cricket Switzerland T20 cricket rules & regulations.

The venue for Swiss Mr Pickwick T20 League finals day will be confirmed in due course of the season.

Pickwick Cup T20 competition will become a two-tier competition starting 2023.

Division 1:

Will include the top 14 teams from the PT20 competition held in 2022. 14 teams will be classified into two groups and the top two teams from each group will qualify for the semifinals.

 

The bottom-ranked team from each group will be relegated to Division 2 in 2024.

Division 2:

Will include all the other teams who are interested in participating in PT20 competition. All new teams will start their journey in Division 2.

 

The two finalists of Division 2 will be promoted to Division 1.

Teams in all divisions will play either home or away games.

 

The winners of all the three groups will automatically qualify for the semifinals and the fourth semifinalist will be chosen based on best average points / game. If two teams end with the same average points/game, NRR will be used to break the tie.
