Sapphire of heavenly blue signifies the height of celestial hope and faith, and is believed to bring protection, good fortune and spiritual insight. It is a symbol of power and strength, but also of kindness and wise judgment.

Zurich Sapphires Cricket Club is an affiliate of Cricket Switzerland. We currently constitute 22 players both active and passive members. Our regular indoor training sessions take place religiously every Saturday from 09:00- 10:30 @Kantonsschule Hottingen, Minervastrasse 14, 8032 Zürich.

We maybe rookies but we have great potential, are fast learners and dare to take up any challenges. Our realistic goal for this season, in addition to the regular training, is also gain experience playing some competitive tournaments in and around Switzerland.

My experience so far interacting with women with regards to cricket is that they are very talented, committed and have a genuine interest for the sport. With coaching and great support, its only about time that we will have a women’s Cricket national squad out. And so I encourage all the women in Switzerland to join the Zurich Sapphires Cricket Club and I can assure you that cricket is never going to be the same.
