St. Gallen Cricket Club

St. Gallen Cricket Club (SGCC) was formally founded on 1^st of March 2014, with the intention to promote cricket in St. Gallen and east Switzerland region. Since its formation the club has continued to grow, both on and off the field by gaining new members, establishing cricketing infrastructure and improving opportunities for playing cricket in and around St. Gallen. Our club is composed of members from different age group and backgrounds and includes playing and non-playing members.

In 2017 the club was granted with two grounds by the administration of St. Gallen City. The grounds are ideally located next to the motorway exit near AFG Arena in St. Gallen. The Ground of Gruendenmoos is one of the most beautiful cricket grounds in Switzerland and offers wonderful facilities for players and spectators alike. It has successfully hosted the ECC Trophy in 2020 and multiple other matches with touring international teams.

SGCC was the winner of Cricket Switzerland National League (CSNL) as well as Pickwick T-20 Cup in 2018 and the runner-up of T-20 Cup in 2019 Swiss Championship. The club caters for all standards of players and offers a wide range of playing possibilities from competitive games (40 Overs League CSNL, T-20 League and T-10 League) and international tours to friendlies and inter-club matches. We also like to keep ourselves active off the cricket Pitch, with special events held at the ground, as well as social events in our region.
